Graham Martin

Teacher TLR – responsibility for Science, Head of Sixth Form

After 20 years as a Chemical Engineer working on large projects in the oil and gas sector, I had a career change to teaching. Following my training in a variety of Durham schools under the GTP scheme I came to Epinay in 2006.  I am Lead for Sixth Form and deliver functional skills English and Maths and PSE (ASDAN). I am lead for Duke of Edinburgh Programme and a trained Expedition Leader and carry First Aid and Incident Management qualifications and I am also a Fire Marshall.  I have been trained by Sunderland University to manage long term student placements in School.  I thought my previous career was challenging and rewarding until I came to Epinay, never a dull day has passed. As well has having the privilege of teaching our great students, I have had the chance to run trips to Thurston, voyages on the Ocean Youth Trust James Cook, and a variety of residential and camping trips as part of my offering to outdoor education.
