Covid response under the National School Breakfast Programme

Our school has signed up to receive free healthy breakfast food as part of the Covid response offer, under the National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.

As part of this government funded programme, schools can choose to offer children a healthy breakfast at school or at home.

Our plan is for the summer holidays is to provide Epinay families with a packet of bagels and box of cereal which can be collected on 2 dates during the holidays at specified collections points.

In September, we will continue to provide every family with a packet of bagels and box of cereal every fortnight.  In addition, pupils will have access to hot bagels when arriving into school and our lifeskills pupils will prepare healthy breakfasts as part f the new programme.

The benefits of a healthy breakfast include children being settled and ready to learn at the start of the day.
