Wednesday 2nd September – Self Care for Young Carers
Being a young carer can really impact upon your health and wellbeing. A lot of time and energy might be put into caring or helping to care for someone, and therefore you may not find enough time for yourself. So in this live forum we’re going to be looking at finding time for yourself, small acts of self-care and where to get extra support if you feel like you need and want it.
Monday 7th September – VOC: Safer Socialising
Socialising can be difficult. From making friends, to navigating those spaces, to peer pressure or finding yourself in situations you’re not sure about. This live forum’s going to be all about how we can keep ourselves safe whilst socialising, looking at ways to spot potentially unsafe situations, some alternative choices we can make, and ideas for safer, supportive spaces we can access.
Wednesday 16th September – Using Creativity to Release Stress
Creativity uses our imagination. It helps to focus and engage our mind in a productive way, which can help to distract us from feelings of stress and anxiety. With everything going on this year, we wanted to focus this live forum on some fun ways to release additional stresses. So whether you’re a writer, artist, crochetier, or you enjoy using your hands and getting crafty, this live forum is the place to be!
Friday 25th September – Settling Back into Education
It’s that time of year again when summer is coming to an end and we need to start preparing to head back to school, college or university. This was already a pretty stressful time of year before all the uncertainty and the ups and downs that 2020 has brought, and we understand this may feel extra difficult this time round. We can’t take those worries away, but we can tell you that you’re not alone and hopefully this live forum will give you space to share those experiences, excitement and worries!
Monday 28th September – Youth Homelessness
Facing homelessness is difficult at any stage in life, but it can be especially upsetting for young people. For this reason, we have linked up with the charity, Centrepoint, for tonight’s live forum and we will be creating a safe and supportive space to chat about what youth homelessness is or might look like, the impact that housing struggles can have on young people, and some different places to get support if you ever find yourself in this position, in the hopes of raising awareness and improving attitudes towards homelessness.
