Parent Testimonials

Please see what some of our pupils parents have to say about us:

  • My child only commenced at the school in September however I feel very confident that they will meet the needs of my child.

  • I've never seen Jack so happy... it means a lot so thank you all so very much.

  • I was very worried for the whole transition with my son. Not being very verbal, I thought this would be an issue, not knowing anyone, the school or the taxi, but to be honest it's been very easy and stress free not only for my son but for us too! Having Mrs Catley-White on board right from the beginning sending photos of the classroom etc made the 6 weeks a lot easier. Having Dojo is a life saver as well as getting up to date info. My son loves school and has seemed to have settled right in.

  • An amazing journey so far. From an emotional none verbal frustrated none sociable little girl to an amazing chatter box controllable inquisitive curious friendly lovable growing little princess. All areas of being at Epinay school has meant the world to us all.

  • My daughter loved her first year in Epinay. Making loads of new friends and getting two Head Teacher awards, as well as helping raise funds for the school. She also loved Flamingoland and starting in the choir, her favourite lesson is cooking.

  • It’s been amazing week with, my son wanting to go to school and with a smile on his face.

  • "We were a bit concerned about my son's transition when the visiting days were cancelled due to covid. However, he did get a visit to the school before he started which was very useful. Mr Rue took us around classrooms and the outside space. He talked about what would happen when my son started and all the different projects the children get to do. He was funny and nice, my son's words!! I think it helped to allay some of my son's anxieties about starting. He was quite excited then about his new school. When he started, everyone was so friendly and helpful. He loves his teachers and is very happy going to school. I think he seems to have settled in very well and that is due to the lovely staff and pupils.

  • My daughter started in 2018 and it has made a big difference in our lives, amazing, love Epinay.

  • Fantastic and thoughtful staff. Activities and trips are exceptional. So many opportunities.

  • Our child only started in September, the transition was handled excellent and overall we are very happy.

  • My child receives excellent one to one support, and his emotional needs are met as well as his educational needs and safeguarding is met very well.

  • Best choice I ever made. My daughter loves coming to school now.

  • Fantastic and thoughtful staff. Activities and trips are exceptional. So many opportunities.

  • Epinay is really truly amazing it's not outstanding for nothing.

  • My son is so happy and settled in Epinay. He loves school so much he actually counts the days down when on school holidays to returning to school. He participates in lunch time activities as well as afterschool clubs. The staff are always happy, polite, respectful and extremely helpful with aspects of my son’s education and future plans. As parents we are also happy and relaxed and re-assured that our son will reach his full potential in this excellent educational environment.

  • Fantastic school. Don’t know what I’d do without it.

  • I have so much praise for the school, Mrs Catley-White and Mr Lauder. I have already seen a difference in the short time she has been here. Aunt/carer.

  • I cannot fault Epinay

  • Friday morning assembly, I've been a few times, cried through most of it. Mr Rue makes it fab

  • Epinay is more than a school in so many ways. The staff are amazing!!

  • Best choice I ever made. My daughter loves coming to school now

  • It’s a brilliant school, I’m glad he’s made friends already.

  • My son has been in Epinay for 4 years now, and he has come such a long way. The staff have so much more time and patience with all of the children.

  • We have a happy little boy, he came in with a big smile on his face.

  • My son is now in his 4th year at Epinay so I feel my comments may be beneficial for OFSTED. Without trying to be too detailed my son attended 4 mainstream schools and suffered bullying badly prior to attending Epinay after an EHCP and a diagnosis of ASD. I cannot stress enough how highly I think of the school and staff in particular. My son's confidence has grown, he's settled, happy, achieving and is super resilient now.

Mr Rue/Miss Price are fantastic Head/Deputy Head, they are so approachable and run the school amazing. Anytime an issue might arise I can have this addressed immediately (any issues are minor). Even with the admin/PAs and reception staff Laura and Sandra are phenomenal and highlight my previous point, their contribution to running the school is wonderful and super nice people. Ronice Jopling also has been great. My son is being taught by Mrs Catley-White now after moving classes this term and he had her as a teacher last year. Mrs Catley-White has been nothing short of unbelievable for my son and always goes that extra mile.... chat re interests, incorporating learning practices, tailoring to my sons needs and the little things on how to make strive. She is amazing.

The school has a zero bullying policy and I know all schools do. I've witnessed bullying being covered up in lots of schools (mainstream) but I can say beyond any reasonable doubt and in total honesty Epinay has ZERO bullying which stems from the Head Teacher all the way down to teachers and assistants. If I have missed some names out her I'm sorry but I recommend Epinay to any child with special needs and would be happy to be contacted if needs be and I'd confirm this. Normally I would be very vague re OFSTED but the school and staff I can not speak highly enough of. Everyone does their part from top to bottom to help the child learn and strive to achieve to be the best of their ability.

PS, another special mention to Mrs Catley-White, my son has stated that in his recent EHCP plan that she is one of the people (and he's only mentioned family in it,) in our small core of people he cares about who means a lot to him.

  • Epinay is more than a school in so many ways. The staff are amazing!!

  • You all do an amazing job with our kids I hope you all know just how appreciated you as a team/school

  • Just been to have the most amazing lunch (special mention for the chef) at a very special school. Epinay Business and Enterprise School in Jarrow is a wonderful place. We were given a first class tour and met some great staff and children. The school is completely in tune with what the children need and drives to make their learning successful and enjoyable. Keep up the good work and thank you for your hospitality xx
